A few top tips

To make sure your vehicle hire goes to plan.

Straight from the manager’s desk. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask – we are here to help!

  1. Pay tolls as you go

Pay any tolls or charges as soon as they happen, it’s easy to forget! If you have a passenger, get them to pay online as you go along.

  2. No pets, please

Please do not allow pets into our vehicles, you may incur an anti-allergy valeting charge.

  3. Reverse in

Try to reverse into parking spaces if you’re in a van. It’s much easier to drive out and you can see the traffic coming.

  4. Thanks mate!

Use your passenger as a “driver’s mate”: get them to jump out and help with any reversing manoeuvres.

  5. Yellow isn’t red

Don’t panic if you see a yellow warning on the dashboard. Modern vehicles tell the driver a lot, and unless it’s a red light there’s normally no need to stop.

  6. Puddles are normal

The air conditioning will leave puddles of condensation under the vehicle, particularly in hot weather. This is not a sign of a fault.

  7. Set your mirrors

Don’t be afraid to adjust the mirrors. Rear view mirrors are crucial in a van and you need to see obstacles to avoid them.

  8. Keep it down!

Loud music can be fun but it can also hide the parking sensors beeping. After the beeps stop there will most likely be a dent.

  9. Heated rear screen

Might seem irrelevant in a van with no back window, but it actually heats the mirrors, helping to keep them clear on a rainy day.

  10. Don’t rush

Take your time. It’s cheaper to pay for another day’s rental than to replace a wing mirror.

  11. Wave at other Happy Hirers

    It’s good for the soul.
